Recently I lay down in my bed to go to sleep at night and realized that I couldnt remember the adhkar for going to sleep and that sometimes I would forget to say these adhkar all-together.
This got me thinking, imagine if I had these adkhar near my bed, on the wall … not just that but when I switched off the lights to sleep these adhkar would glow … this way I would never forget to say these adhkar for sure … Insha’Allah. It would help me fulfill the sunnah, have the protection of Allah (swt) when I go to sleep and allow me to sleep in a state of islam insha’Allah …
What a great way to teach kids adhkaar too… Allah o alam, so thats the idea… Glow-in-the-dark Adhkaar… what do you guys think?

Awesome idea. I actually see this being potentially practical, it just comes down to the cost of making the glow in the dark writing in detail. I don’t know how many buy it just because it is glow in the dark, but framing as a kids product would make the novelty worth it

I’m going to try and see if I can get something like this printed as a prototype while I am in Pakistan.

Good one Mahir! You seem to have stumbled upon a real need here – a lot of us have trouble remembering our duas and are normally too lazy to get up once the lights are off!
So glow-in-the-dark would be fun if each word (or maybe each verse) was an independent sticker and you could place them as you like; but that would require multiple plates for cutting and printing which might not be feasible for the manufacturer. Most glow in the dark stickers are easy to make coz the shapes are not intricate (solid like the ones pictured above).
How about a pointer (laser thingy) which can project the dua on a wall? I’ve seen pointers projecting really detailed pictures (a popular one was a smiling Altaf Hussain MQM… very funny!) and the ones made in China are fairly inexpensive. And I think you can even have multiple “slides” (one for each dua) built into it. However, I don’t know if children should be given laser pointers to play with. Hmmm…

Hmm… these are some very interesting comments. I really like the idea about the laser show duas. You can get a Compact Handheld Laser Show Gadget for about $200 and customize it, but I dont know how good the usability is:

One guys says about this product:
“though if you’re looking to create a laser projected rendition of anything other than a number of fairly non-descript doodles then you’ll really need to look elsewhere as the device’s functions are a little on the basic side.”
What I am thinking is that the end product would look like this but with Arabic calligraphy and translation:

Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Leo.

Hey Leo:
Just like the other semitic religions, God has ordained daily prayers on the Muslims as well:
“And Moses made haste, bowed his head towards the earth and worshiped.” [Exodus 34:8]
“And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabermade of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces, and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them. [Numbers 20:6].”
“And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed…” [Matt 26:39]
We are trying to figure out a way to pray comfortably in public places without confusing non-Muslims around us who might not be familiar with the rituals of Islamic prayer.
